Overview
Students, Staff, or Faculty may receive this error when attempting to log in to any UT system (such as Canvas, MyUTK, or other university services). This issue is often caused by having multiple Microsoft accounts signed in within the same web browser.

Steps to resolve Unauthorized Access Error
- Go to https://myaccount.microsoft.com/.
- Click your profile icon in the upper-right corner of the page.
- Select Sign in with a different account.
- For each listed account, click the ellipsis (three dots) to the right of the account name.
- Select Sign out and Forget.
- Repeat this process for all Microsoft accounts, including your school account.
- After completing the steps above, return to the UT system you were attempting to access and try signing in again.
Note: To prevent this issue in the future, use separate web browsers for different Microsoft accounts (for example, one browser for your school account and another for your personal account).
